Hi- I took my nipple piercing out about 9 months ago and it still hasn't healed yet. While I still had the piercing it was always a little crusty, but nothing like the common signs of infection.
I thought that the crust would stop eventually but there is still puss-like stuff everytime i give my nipple a gentle little pinch.
What is going on with my poor nipple? How can I stop this from happening?
First, STOP PINCHING THE NIPPLE. You are probably expressing the milk glands and nothing more.
If you had your piercing for over a year, then the holes could be permanent. Eventually they will shrink but this takes time. So leave them alone and eventually this milking substance should stop.
What does "expressing the milk glands” mean?
I think that the substance that comes out is puss...does that mean it is infected?
I had the piercing for a year and a half...so the hole is permanent, right?
I really appreciate your help. I didn't want to ask my gynecologist because she was mad at me when I got it pierced in the first place.
Thanks again
You wrote that you 'give your nipple a little pinch', this is a way to get milk out of your breasts. Piercing nipples has been going on for a couple of hundred years and its primary function was to help women in releasing the trapped milk inside their breasts.
The substance you are seeing is NOT an infection but some milk. So in order to stop the milk from producing, you have to stop pinching it. Its simple.
Your piercing should be permenant as its older than a year and a half.
WOW! I never would have guessed! Thank you so much!
BTW- I stopped pinching...
Happy to have educated you and glad that you have stopped pinching.
Take care
