Hi! I have read through some of the posts on the site. I know that it is best not to clean with saline or anything, and only to clean it really when I am in the shower and before I go to bed with a hot water compress. That will be my plan for cleaning, is there ANYTHING that I said that is not recommended?

Also, i just got my nose pierced today, and I bled a LOT. My piercer said more than almost anyone he had seen. I am not anemic, and I am not a hemophiliac, I just bled a lot when he pierced me. i am not bleeding anymore, but should I be warned about any special things for that?

Thank you all so much!

Also, is it not recommended to swivel the piercing once or twice a day?

Yeah don't move the stud or anything. Just maybe every now and then...once a week or so move it up and down once. I found that helped any healing skin on the inside to not 'stick' to the stud.

As for bleeding when i got my first nose done it didn't bleed. The one I have no, It bleed REALLY bad for about the first 1-2days. My stud was just covered in blood and lymph and the more i cleaned it off the more it bled. So thats not really unusual, some people bleed some people dont.

Just keep up with the warm washing and hot compresses for the moment. Use a damp q-tip to help work away any crusties that will form. This is just dried lymph fluid which helps the piercing to get rid of any yukk stuff and heal properly.

Good luck with it all!

Also, I exercise  a lot, so my face sweats. Should I just rinse my face off after workouts like I would normally do? Or should I do a hot compress and clean it with a q-tip?

Yeah, usually after I do some exercise I just rinse the area under a running tap of water, then just pat it dry with a tissue or something. Just becareful not to bump it around too much.

Please just leave the piercing alone.  When dealing with sweating, of course, wash your face as you normally would.  Just do your best not to touch the piercing.  Pat your face dry and dont rub it.

Other than that, just leave it alone and let your body heal itself.  The more you do to this piercing, the more problems you could have.
