Today i got my vertical hood pierced. My piercer was awesome, and it doesnt hurt at all. He did tell me I should try to stay away from having any sexual contact, for 4-6 weeks. That seems crazy! How do you feel about this?
Also, with all the piercings I have had, they have told me not to submerge them in water....why is that?

Glad you had an wonderful piercing experience. We do not understand the length of time to refrain from sexual contact. We generally recommend waiting about 7 days as this is how long this piercing takes to completely heal.
It may be a little uncomfortable at the beginning so judge how active you are by the way you feel. Generally, from our clients, no one ever waits the full week and never had any problems.
With respect to submerging your piercings? Are you talking about genital piercings? Or all piercings in general? If you are asking about genital piercings, we suggest cleaning this piercing in a tub and soaking is recommended especially if tender.
We recommend not going into lake or ocean water for the first month because of high bacteria but chlorine pools are fine.
