Vertical Hood Piercing Help

I had my hood pierced 7 weeks ago and I keep having a problem that is really starting to irritate my piercing.  I have a 12 gauge curved barbell.  It keeps drifting upwards so that the bottom bead is under the hood, and the top is sticking up.  Sometimes I've caught something on it when it was sticking out past or even with the outer labia.  The hole for the piercing is starting to really get irritated, and it feels like it might have torn a little.

Could it be the way that I am personally shaped?  Or is there something I could do or change?

From your description, the barbell is too long for your piercing.  The balls may also be a little small as well.

It has nothing to do with your shape, its the shape of the jewellery that is causing your problem.  Generally for this piercing we would use a J-bar which is shaped just as the letter.

At our shop, we would take an exact measurement and custom make your piece so that it will fit properly and not cause you any discomfort.  All we can recommend is that you get a better fitting barbell.
