I am just tired of this freaking bump that i have just gave up and am letting it close! I guess that this is what I get for piercing my nose with a gun! Im really sad that im taking it out for i love my piercing but HATE the bump with such a passion! I have tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it! Ive tried hot water compressions, sea soaks, aspirin cream, H2Ocean and leaving it alone but it wouldnt go away or go down! So can anyone tell me how long it would take for the piercing to close and for the bump to go down? Oh and also I am planning to re-pierce it but with a needle this time. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to make the piercing close faster and when to re-pierce it? Also, how long does it take for the bump to go away after the piercing is closed?
Every person is different and you have done a lot of damage to the tissues and it will depend on how your body will heal itself so we really cannot give you an answer to your questions.
Some people have told us that it does not take long for the bump to go away, but then we have seen it taking several months before its completely gone because of all the damage done to it. You have done some very harsh stuff to your piercing. Please be patient and leave it alone and let the body heal itself.
How long did you have the piercing and how long have you been using all these products?
I got the piercing at the end of february......oh and by the way... i didnt use all these products at the same time. i tried them all at different times. I started cleaning it at the beginning with sea salt until the bump came out which was around the end of March, then i started using the apirin cream for about one week and i saw no improvement AT ALL so i started using H2Ocean and it went down a little but then it came back so then i just gave up on using products and left it alone. Of course I left it alone for some time before changing what I cleaned it with.
So its a month later and the bump is still there...but its smaller and i have a dark circle in the middle of the bump, which i think is the hole..but i dont know and its kinda starting to worry me.
If you have used all those products, then it does not surprise us that you are experiencing these problems.
We have seen it before and we have seen great success with very warm water compresses done 2 times a day for about 10 minutes. This will reduce the swelling and expel any trapped pus. It may also get a little worse before it gets better.
You did tell us it looks purple and that means its bruised and that will take some time to heal. Then the body can get back to healing itself.
We know that the body heals itself very well without any interference from us. It is the same if you cut yourself and after you cleaned it, put on a bandaid and then left it alone. A little time later, you remove the bandaid and the injury is healing well. The same philosophy applies to any piercing.
Please be patient and try the compress treatment for a week and see if there is any difference. Please write back with your progress.
