I have an Apradavya which is 6 months old and fully healed.

I am able to put throught a 6-ga taper. I don't have 6-ga jewelry to follow through. I find that good quality jewelry in custom size very expensive and hard to come by.

As I would like to be at 4-ga I am asking myself if  it is possible to insert a 4-ga jewelry using a taper if your piercing is at 8-ga ?

In other words my question is:  Can you go from 8-ga to 4-ga jewelry? Do you have to take it  a step at a time.

Since you are able to get a 6 gauge taper in your piercing it would see possible to go up to 4 gauge without too much trouble, just be careful.

We suggest, doing this in a slow process to reduce the discomfort.  For example, insert the 4 gauge as far as it can go without being painful.  Leave it in for a few minutes to 1 2 hour, then remove it.  Each time you do this it should get easier.  When you can slip it in without pain, then you are ready for the 4 gauge jewellery.
