Hello. I got my nipples pierced 4 days ago. They're still a little swollen, and though they didn't bleed on day night 2, they started again yesterday and after having a bit to drink (and by 'bit' I actually mean 'bit'. Minimal amounts of alcohol were consumed), one of them bled a more today. About the same, of not a tiny bit more, than when I originally got them pierced.
The blood doesn't really bother me. I'm sure there's been a bit of trauma and such, and so that's okay.
The thing is, the one that bled a lot today also has this small lump on under the areola. It is sometimes really small and barely noticeable, and other times (possibly when the nipple swells) obvious, and almost vein-shaped (in that it extends in length, and is kind of snake-shaped.)
When it's barely obvious, it's just like a small (probably 1cm to less) lump halfway between the very outer edge of my areola and my nipple, when it's bigger, it's extends from the middle of my areola to the outer edge of it, and like I said, it's kind of shaped like a vein.
It kind of hurts, but the pain is not unbearable when I press down on it, etc. Any idea what it is? Is my nipple about to fall off?
You told us what is happening to your piercings but you did not tell us what the aftercare is and what you have been doing to your piercing.
If you already have a bump on it, then you must be overcleaning the piercings. So please check out our aftercare section for our aftercare and this may help reduce the bleeding problem.
The bump is caused by irritating the piercing and it will disappear as the body is given the opportunity to heal itself. Your nipple is not going to fall off. This is caused by you and what you are doing to your piercing.
