So I got my piercing 4 days ago. yesterday I was eating dinner and my stud must have of got caught on something and riped backwards into my mouth the whole thing.. it didn't hurt, which was wierd.

I cleaned it with sea salt the two days a little too much than I should have of the on the third day bought some bactine and use that actually that was the same day as it riped out.

I went back to my piercer and he put a ring in it and said that would be back for the healing process. When I told him that I was using bactine, he got sort of irritated. He told me I should only use 50-50 mouth wash and sea salt soaks, and Dove soap in the shower.

The outside of my "hole" is red and crusty, my piercer said that was because I was using Bactine.

Is there any thing else that I should know?

We start the lip piercing with a ring to make it easier to clean.  The barbell would have to be long and it can therefore get caught on things that can do the damage that you describe.

We agree with your piercing about the Bactine, according to the manufacturer, they do NOT recommend it for any piercing either.  It is used for cuts and scraps, that is not what your problem is, so it will only do more damage and irritate just as you are now experiencing with redness and crusties.  This is also caused by the salt water soaks because this is also drying and irritating to any fresh piercing.

We have an aftercare section and we would suggest you look at the lip and see just what our aftercare is and our clients do not have many problems at all.
