side-labret piercing

I got my right side labret done yesterday. And there has been minimal blood, minimal crust, only the area above the labret is a tad swollen but does not hurt. I can eat quite well, despite the fact that here and there it'll get caught on my braces.

However, I had suspicions that when I got it done yesterday my piercer was stoned or just permanently stupid, because he kept going back and forth and in his own world forgetting things and taking his time.

When he was piercing me, my eyes were closed but I heard something metal drop on the floor. It turned out it was the needle and he threw it out, but whatever he just seemed clumsy.

It took him a long time, but when it was done I noticed that at the top there was the smallest little hump of skin that should have separated nicely or something but it didnt.  It's not a keloid, but when I look at it in the morning when I have not cleaned it yet, it looks like a little scab, but then when wet it becomes white and I don't know how to get rid of it.

I've been doing sea salt soaks after every meal, I clean it with anti-bacterial soap in the shower, and make sure to twist and spin the jewelry (with clean hands!) and it's fine. But this little skin is just making me nervous. What do i do?:(

Please use our aftercare and stop using salt water as this is part of your problem.

We are also saddened by the unprofessional piercing shop you visited and your experience was not pleasant.  We are also a little concerned that the piercer did not strongly recommend not doing this piercing until you removed your braces.  It will continue to get caught and as you become more comfortable with it, you will start to get the barbell caught more frequently.

Please be careful as it can do damage to your tissues.  The more you irritate this piercing the more problematic it will become and this bump will increase and other problems will occur.
