Re:HI I am wondering if you can help, I had a nipple piercing done about 9 months ago from quite a professional Clinic I am a male age 25.
I had a
1.6x14mm nipple ring with a ball, followed as the clinic and used savalon spray daily, and removing crusties etc.
Problem seems to be now that looks like two small little lumps on either side of the piercing is this normal? they seem to go down if not touched.. but the other day I noticed an itching sensation on the nipple when I put one of my t-shirts on I noticed later on that night it had flared up again lumps increasing in size.
I cleaned the piercing with savalon removed the t-shirt and the itching stopped but nipple was still sore and was starting to bleeed alittle and had crusty's and a white like puss.
What do you suggest this might be as I've always had alittle puss now and then from the piercing since It's been a couple of days from the weekend it's calmed down now and stopped itching but looks like dry skin tiny scab around the left side of the nipple.
It looks abit bigger than my left nipple but I've been told this is normal after consulting my piercer and she is telling me to still clean it daily, only thing I can think of is it's not healed as I made a mistake of rotating the ring at first few months, not reliasing this will cause problems.
Hope to hear from you and hope to put my mind at rest.
All the best
Carl
If you are still using the savlon cleanser then you are overcleaning and irritating your piercing.
Aftercare is to kickstart the body to heal itself and as long as you keep irritating the piercing, it will not heal.
So please STOP doing EVERYTHING to your piercing. When you shower soap around the piercing, just let the water run over the piercing. Any bacteria will be rinsed off by the running water. Afterwards, take a Q-tip and remove any crusties formed without moving the ring.
Other than that, just leave them alone and let the body heal itself. If you get a whitish discharge every so often for no reason, it is probably lactation and is normal. Just do what we have recommended and leave the ring alone as well.
