is the redness around the top normal?
and i used softsoap, antibacterial non scented, is that ok?
Yes, redness for the first few days is normal. Think about a scratch and for how long the skin surrounding the injury is red for and as it heals the tissues become healther except for right around the scar tissue.
The piercing is healing in that way except it is doing this from the inside out.
Softsoap is the brand we recommend but only clean your piercing for 2 weeks. Then let your body heal itself.
Overcleaning is the number one problem we see.
