Will the old scars affect the new piercing in any way?
What aftercare should I use? When looking at the Blackstar Aftercare section it didn't really say.
Should I get it done with a barbell or a ring? When I got them done originally it was with a ring and that worked out well.
Thanks
How long did you keep in the jewellery before removal? Why did you remove the jewellery? Was it for medical reasons? Were they healthy when you removed the jewellery?
We cannot answer about the scars because we cannot see them and do not know how you will get them done again? If you had the piercings for over a year, they should still be there, unless you removed them because there was a problem.
We always recommend using rings for nipple piercings.
To answer your questions:
How long were they pierced?
I had my nipples pierced from October 'til May, so around 6 7 months.
Were they healthy at the time of removal?
The piercings basically heal and doing great. I never had any problems with the healing process or anything.
Why were they removed?
I only removed them because I was still living at home at the time and my mother found out about them. (I just got out of the shower and didn't think of locking the bathroom door when she came in) She was unrelenting that I needed to take them out. So, because I could not stand her nagging on a five minute basis I took them out.
The scars?
The scars are really barely noticeable unless you know what you are looking for. But I didn't know if even a little scaring would affect the re-piercing. I really wanted to know because I would hate to get my hopes up and prepared for the pain just to be told that scars, no matter how small, on a nipple piercing prevent re-piercing.
I really loved the look of the nipple piercings and want to have them again. And since I no longer live in my parent's home, have learned the value of locking a door and have allowed 1 1 2 years for them to heal I thought it was about time to pursue them again.
Thank you for the information about rings. But again, what type of aftercare is recommended for nipple piercings? Anti-bacterial soap in the shower? Hot water soaks?
Since your piercings were healthy and the scars are quite minimal, you should have no problem getting their re-pierced.
We have a section called Blackstar Aftercare and there you will find our aftercare for the nipple. Use it!
Generally, we would pierce right through the first holes if they are straight, otherwise we would pierce behind them.
Good luck
Thank you so much for your help and advise. I went and got my nipples re-pierced on Saturday. They look so gorgeous! I can't be happier. The guy I'm seeing is rather upset though because I told him he couldn't touch them. Oh well, he'll get over it.
They did end up re-piercing through the old scars. This time it didn't hurt nearly as bad as last time. The woman who pierced me did it quickly and efficiently. The last time I thought it took years to get the needle through. I’m only on day three and the piercings look great and don’t hurt unless accidentally bumped. I forgot how much you boobs get in the way of things all the time. :)
I found the aftercare for nipples. I only saw the nipple information before. Sorry for the confusion. I will absolutely follow the Blackstar regimen.
I'm so excited my breast look fabulous and all decorated!
Glad to read that you had a good experience with the piercer.
Also happy that your piercings are doing well.
So, my nipple piercings were doing great and then I put barbells in them. The barbells were too small and were causing the edges of the piercing to get soft and irritated on the edges. I put the rings back in but I still have some scabs from the edges where it was tender.
Should I just leave things be or should I soak them in warm water? Should I treat them like newly pierced nipples with neosporin for a couple of days, soap cleanings for a week and then backing off again? I just don't know what to do. My bra sometimes irritates the scabs and it seems to just get worse.
Should I put a bandaid on them? Please help. Thanks so much.
NO, please do not start cleaning or using the neosporin on the piercings. This will NOT help but irritate and the tissues may become more problematic.
Please describe these scabs. Are they like bumps? Do they have fluid in them? Do you have any discharge?
You inserted the rings and this will probably help. Since you injured them, they are now sensitive and this will take some time to heal. Be patient and please do NOT use bandaids on them as this will irritate the tissue. You can use a gauze pad (or 2) inside your bra to support the piercings.
Answer the questions as best as you can so that we can better assist you.
Thank you for your responce. The scabs are like the ones you get if you scrape your knee or something. I had been putting kleenex to keep them from being irritated in the bra. Other than that I hadn't been doing anything until I heard from you.
I will start using gauze. They are looking and feeling better now.
Thanks again
Since they are like scabs, they will eventually heal as long as you leave them alone.
Glad to know you waited for our response before starting anything else.
Take care
