As we can not see your tongue, its difficult to tell you what the problem was and where you can get it pierced again.  But we are quite confused by the location "opposite side of my tongue".  Did the piercing not get done in the middle of the tongue inbetween the 2 large muscle bundles.  Lift your tongue up in front of a mirror and you will see an indent inbetween the muscles and this is where you should be pierced.

We do not know why you had problems with numbness as the tip should not be affected, if you got your tongue pierced where we recommend.  The bump on the bottom may not go away, we have noticed that in a some clients.  Part has to do with what the aftercare was and how much you played with it.  It does not sound like you got it pierced for too long so it should reduce.

Where we pierce the tongue, there are really no pain sensors and its the least painful piercing.  But the tongue does swell afterwards and this can be most uncomfortable for some and intolerable for others.  We recommend following our aftercare and using Extra Strength Midol as it has an ingredient that helps reduce the swelling fast.

Good luck

The veins do not have anything to do with numbing the area.  Veins carry de-oxygenated blood back to the heart.  They are not nerves.  The nerve trunks on the tongue are in the muscle bundles.  A tongue piercing should be done in the centre indent where there is no muscle.

For your information, when you have a blood test, the lab uses the vein to extract blood and once the needle is removed the hole closes up with just a little blood discharge.

Any time you get a piercing, the body responds by swelling.  Its a natural affect to the injury.  We do not understand what you are trying to ask about the location of the vein and getting it pierced at the end of it?

Please clarify.
