re-gaugeing

hey :]

I gauged my ear around 1 year ago.  I had gotten it up to a 4g fairly easily.  after I inserted the 2g, (with a little difficulty) my ear started to hurt and became red.  I figured I had gauged up too quickly, so I decided to just let my ear heal before I started again.  it is healed now, but I still have a little ball of (what I suppose to be) scar tissue in my earlobe.  would it be safe to start gauging my ear again, or should I just leave it alone.

thanks

You did not give the tissues enough time to become accustomed to the gauge before upgauging and that is why you now have the lump.

You can try but we believe that this damage is a result of you rushing it.  You may want to weight the piercing down to 'stretch' the skin before you attempt to upgauge.

We cannot tell you what will happen to this lump one way or another, but waiting will probably be better than trying too early.
