I have a large bump that has formed next to my navel.  I have had it pierced (the second time) for over 2 years now!  There was just a little pus, but mostly when sqeezed there was a lot of clear sticky liquid.  What should I do?  I have used salt water soaks, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, bactin spray (yes, I since have found out some of these things are not wise choices).  I really don't want to let it close up again, but not sure what else to do.

If you have not had any problems for the last 2 years and now you have a bump, we need to know what you have been doing before you developed the bump.  How long has the bump been there and for how long did you use all those harsh products on the piercing?

The clear sticky liquid could mean that you have a yeast infection.  Please stop doing everything to your piercing and start eating yoghurt 3 times a day and keep the piercing very dry including inside the piercing.  When you shower, take a Q-tip and dry off the inside part of the navel.  Do not move or turn the ring at all.  If you do not see any noticeable difference in 5 days, then go see your doctor.

Now for some good news.  Since your piercing is over 2 years old, it is there and will not close up.  It may shrink but a good piercing shop will be able to insert any jewellery if you are unable to.

Keep in touch with your progress.
