i had my lobes professionally upgauged 3 weeks ago..have been washing w soap for sensative skin..they got itchy so i massaged them w jojoba lavendar mix..soothing..have also done occassional sea salt soaks when they were unbearably itchy.
took out the steel eyelets, today, to wash them and noticed tiny scab on inside of stretch as well as a bit of blood on o-rings. still itchy, i massaged them w soap..it felt good but the holes turned dark purple. i applied lavendar jojoba oil and re-inserted the eyelets.
i think i'll do a sea salt soak a day for the next few days and leave the eyelets in while washing the lobes over the next few weeks.
any other suggestions or counter suggestions would be gladly received
thanks for your time
sweet

When you upgauge, there is really no aftercare necessary other than letting water run over them while you are washing your hair.  The water would get into the ear lobes and this would be enough for daily cleaning.  Once a month, you would remove them and get off anything that may be trapped inside.

Doing too much and using salt water will only irritate and do more damage to your tissues.

Lavender and jojoba are moisturizer type products and that would be beneficial to offset the problems created by the salt water.

Good luck
