PRODUCTS NOT TO USE ON ANY PIERCING

Here are some products that you should not use for aftercare:

Alcohol, Witch Hazel, Hydrogen Peroxide, Ear Care Solutions, and Salt water dry out everything they touch preventing healing during the time of usage.

Any of these products DO NOT speed up healing, nor do what you think or need!  Instead these things will dry out and even kill anything in its paths.  Your piercing will not start healing until you STOP the use of them.

Each has a possible use in problem treatments, the use for each of them:   Alcohol and Witch Hazel (both are Astringents) are used in extreme cases to shrink Hypertrophic Scaring (red fluid filled sacks) when they occurred.

If it is drying out, its because of the Alcohol.  STOP USING IT, and start moisturizing.  Any water-based  moisturizer would work best.  We use: St. Ives, Swiss Formula - for Severe Dry Skin with Collagen and Elastin.  The best time to moisturize is right after a nice warm or hot shower (the pores are more open and absorbent).

Use a Q-tip and apply liberally to the area, wipe off what ever does not absorb in with a Kleenex (do not turn through the piercing).  In fact DO NOT TURN THE RING at all, this will just further dry and irritate the tissue.

Remember in healing management "Do as little as Possible, but as much as Necessary", these words will help you heal.  There is nothing that will speed up healing, your body heals at its own rate!
