I was just wondering if it is safe to use a plastic barbell in an eyebrow piercing.

No, we do not recommend using the plastic barbells. We know that the first ones were introduced to substitute the jewellery when having medical tests only and were not used for long term use.
The newer ones we have seen are more inclined to remain straight and this is a larger problem as the piercings are not ready or mature enough to use this material and the result is redness and pain.
