Oral surgery and tongue piercing

I've had my tongue pierced for a little over a month, and I'm having my wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. The surgeon will more than likely have to remove my piercing; I was wondering that since it's still white around the bottom hole, if it'll start healing before I have time to replace the barbell?

Thanks!

One of the services that we provide at Blackstar is that we remove jewellery before and after surgery.

We have the knowledge to do this without too much discomfort for the client.  We recommend to get it out just before the surgery and get it back in as quickly as possible afterwards.

If you attempt to do this on your own, you may lose your piercing because it is so young.

Good luck

Thanks for the reply.

My piercing actually closed up after only a couple of hours, which sucked, but I had a friend of mine re-pierce it for me later that night, so it all worked out.

We hope that your friend was a piercer.

Hope all went well with the surgery.
