Is it typical to suffer a "set back" one month from piercing. After about two weeks, my nipples were not sore constantly. Now, one month later my right nipple has been sore constantly for the last two days. No discharge, no swelling, no redness - still cleaning twice a day as instructed by my piercer.
Your problem is common with overcleaning. After 2 weeks, there is no need to clean the piercings. Leave them alone for the body to heal with.
If you keep moving and cleaning the piercing, you will be irritating the tissues and this will result in pain and discharge.
If they are sore, we recommend doing a very warm water compress for about 10 minutes each morning night. The crusties would be softened and you can use a Q-tip and remove them without moving the ring. If they look dry or chapped, take another Q-tip and apply a moisturizer until absorbed.
Otherwise, just leave them alone and the body will heal itself.
