Ok 2 weeks ago I had both my nipples pierced. And it went really good hardly any pain.

The aftercare that my piercer told me was to wash them with tea tree oil soap which is a antibacterial with pure tree essential oil 2 times daily .

Anyway I thought they were healing good. I know its still early and i have no problems, such as no redness, no tenderness, no crusties, so they look really good.

My major concern is that last night I felt a pain on my outer part of my left breast.  so obviously I felt it. and the scary part is that there is a painful lump there.  I called my piercer and he said it should go away, and told me to wait until 8 weeks and if it is still there to come back.

Don't know if this as happen to anyone any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Aftercare is about 2 1 2 weeks long and after that you should not move the jewellery or clean the piercing anymore.

We do not recommend the soap that you used, as tea tree oil is most useful for parasites not piercings.  Please stop using the soap and just do regular hygiene.

Do not soap the piercings at this point, just soap around them and let warm water run over the piercings.  You may notice that you have some discharge and if so, take a Q-tip and remove them without moving ring.  Otherwise, leave them alone.

Overcleaning is the problem for many piercings and if you have been washing 2 times a day for the last 2 weeks, this is overcleaning.

Keep in touch with your progress.

ok I understand what you are saying and I will try as you suggested.  But when I called my piercer yesterday he told me to use the aftercare for another 6 weeks because of the lump.

Have you ever heard of a big lump appearing on the breast after getting a nipple pierced.

Please DO NOT clean or move the piercing anymore.  You have to understand, its nothing that we put or do to our piercings that heal them; its the body that does all the healing.

When we interfere, this results with problems.  You are experiencing a bump and this is caused by several issues.  For the bump to form so quickly, it could be that you cleaned for too long a time.  In other words, soaping around the piercing and moving the jewellery more than 6 times for cleaning and rinsing.  This can dry and severely irritate.  Without seeing the piercings and getting that information from you, we can only recommend from what you wrote.

With our aftercare, we rarely see someone having problems with their piercings.

There is also another factor that you may be experiencing, lactation, may be part of the problem from the bump.  Piercing the nipple opens the milk ducts and you may have one that is clogged.  A warm compress will help to bring it to a head and it will expel itself, do not pop this bump.

Keep in touch

ok yesterday i just had regular shower didn't  rotate the ring and amazingly I must say the bump is shrinking.

I was very surprise and happy with that.  The bump was a size of a beer bottle cap and now it is a size of a marble.  so now I will just continue to do my regular shower.

I have notice some white discharge so I've just been using a Q-tip for that.  I must say I HAVE HAPPY NIPPLES.

Thank you so much for your advice.

You are very welcome.  Glad that we could help.  Its amazing on how many have the same type of experience no matter what the piercing is.

Thanks again for posting on our forum.
