Hey! I got my tongue repierced Friday, it is now tuesday night. I have a large tongue, wide and long! the new piercing is healing...but the top ball has a "nest" around it, the barbell still fully moves and its not stuck or anything..I guess its like a crator like other people on here have said. The nest does not stick up from my tongue So I was guessing maybe the balls were too small so today I went back to the shop and it was not the same guy who did mine but he changed the top ball did not mention the nest really just said keep taking motrin...he changed the ball to the biggest he had and its the same size as the 1st piercing I had (I still have the barbell) it feels ALOT better but the nest is whats worring me...I've been researching and I think i might be over cleaning it? I use Listerine after ANYTHING other then water. I know my tongue is still swollen, not too bad but noticeably swollen. So I'm thinking maybe slowing down the cleaning? any other helpful hints?? thanks soo much!
The ball size we start with is 6mm (1 4" diameter). Nesting is generally caused by swelling. Motrin does not help reduce inflamation, extra strength Midol does.
You are over rinsing because you are not supposed to rinse after everything you ingest. Please look and follow our aftercare listed on this forum.
