ok so i got my nipple piercing at about 4 o'clock today and one looks fine but one is more painful than the other and the one thats sore, my nipple is caving in? or something. Its indented and also the piercing is like right on the line of my actual nipple and my chest.
should i remove it? Is it too early to determine anything? im just worried because i dont want my nipple being dented. I will see if i can post a picture of it so someone can get a better idea of whats going on. If anyone can help thanks.
thats not too good.
all i know is that if it's pierced too deep, it will take a much longer time to heal and it's more susceptible to infection.
i think you should wait the normal healing time (2-4 months) and see how it goes.
Now its bleeding alot. i put a bandage over it and when i took it off to take my shower the thing is caked in blood as in the ring was glued to me. Then it wouldnt stop bleeding after i got out of the shower so i just put a bandaid over it with some neosporin to go to sleep.
Am i doing something wrong? im washing it with antibacterial soap, the clear softsoap stuff. Im only washing it once a day in the shower though. Is the piercing just screwed up? help?
We cannot comment on the location or the way your nipple seems to have changed as we cannot see the piercing. At our shop, we pierce behind the nipple and the nipple is always enlarged and sticking outwards.
You should not remove it unless the pain is extreme, but if there is green discharge, then you must leave the ring in place as this will allow for the puss to be expelled from your body. But we do not believe that its infected, just irritated.
Blood occurs for several reasons, how you clean, what you use, where its placed and the size of the ring. If you have hit it in any way, will also cause this to occur.
Putting a bandaid is also not a good idea as this irritates and the bleeding will occur more frequently as the pressure by the bandaid will just irritate more.
As a couple of months have past since you posted, please write and let us know how you are doing.
For wagger:
Piercings heal by secondary intent and this takes the longest to heal. Therefore any piercing (except for genital piercings) take a full year to completely heal. You can change jewellery at about 6 weeks as long as the piercing is healthy.
i went to the shop and talked to the owner and he said it was ok but my left one was off centered. it was pierced next to my nipple and was coming out where the aerola stops and the skin starts so he took it out and gave me a free piercing thing so im going to get it repierced.
he said 2 months so thats how long im waiting. my right one is doing fine now. it feels like its healed completely even though i know its not. it does not hurt one bit. i just cannot wait untill i get the other one again.
the only thing im worried about is the scar tissue on the one i took out. i dont know if its just scar tissue or keloids. they are not bigger than my nipple and you cannot tell from looking at it from another person's point of view but i can see them from my point of view looking down. i will just see how it goes.
thanks for the help
Glad to read that at least one nipple is doing well. We are also glad that the piercer removed the other jewellery and is giving you a new piercing.
Two months to wait is fine and you will notice as the time goes on, that the scar tissue and bumps that you may be seeing will start to dissappear. Your piercings were not old enough and the breast area is another area that heals well.
Breastfeeding can do a lot of damage to the nipple and once you stop, the nipple returns to normal eventually.
Do not worry, your nipples should be fine by the time you get it repierced.
