1. Got pierced a week after valentine's day.
2. did sea soaks, what was advised.
3. got bump about 2-3 weeks after piercing. it was small.
4. Went at it w aspirin, tea tree oil, sea salt, ect. this lasted for about a week.
5. Left it alone. It shrunk, became less obvious, starting to peel, getting crusties showing that it's healing. All is well.
6. I took a bubble bath. I didn't even wash my face. Water got on my face from rinsing my hair...didn't even use a towel...let it air dry.
7. It's one big, bad, red mofo. It's larger than my nose stud!! Before the bath, it was smaller! It's like the incredible hulk!
8. I  really love my piering, but that's not the focal point of my face right now. I'm getting sick of this, even though it's been a short time. I feel like a witch w a wart.

My bump teased me. How i wish I didn't have to deal with this. It seems like everything, even breathing or looking at it wrong pisses it off.

What's a girl to do??

I know how you feel, but I laughed when I read your post about your bump being the incredible hulk.

Yes, once you get a bump they are so ridiculously tempermental.   Any chance the soap from your bubble bath came in contact with your piercing??  That would probably piss it off.  I had problems like this too...at one point mybump was big enough to cast a shadow and I didn't leave my house for days.  Like you, I was doing all kinds of stuff to it for awhile, desparate to make it go away.
Something must have happend to make it mad cuz you said that it was healing and as soon as you took a bath it reacted.  I'd say leave it alone and wait (Iknow it's hard) and you'll probably see it start improving as long as nothing else irritates it.  The time when my bump swelled up like a balloon it was noticably smaller by the next day.
Good luck

It's doing a little better, it's smaller this morning, although still red and annoying. It was probably the soap....  I am wondering if  once it goes away, will bubble bath, ect. cause it to start again, or am I stuck babysitting it forever?

thank you for your words. Sometimes it's good just to know that someone else has gone through the same thing and survived.

Glad your bump is doing better.  Hopefully that will continue.  Try not to get discouraged and be patient cuz some people say it took their bump awhile to totally disappear....it's probably a lot more noticeable to you than other people.

All was going well until I was cleaning the crusties off w a q tip, the q tip caught on my stud and pulled in out a ways..enough to hurt...so, it's there again.. (sigh).

Oh well. I know it may take a damn long time to go away, even w out doing what I did tonight...at least I can see it getting smaller, and that's encouraging enough to know that there's a way.

Before I pissed it off tonight, it had turned into kind of a white head...not sure what that's about

Just sounds like the normal process of the bump. I swear they can get very trying at times. I almost gave up on my nose piercing about 3 or 4 times over a 6month period. However now it's calmed down and seems to be doing good.

I would say just let the water wash over your face when you're in the shower. Pat it dry with tissue or something CLEAN when you get out, don't wanna leave it with all moisture.

Catching it definately won't be helping with the healing, I pulled mine out once when I was asleep and almost out twice in my sleep. Nasty stuff!

Sometimes hot warm water compresses of around 10minutes can help draw out any yukkies that might be in the piercing.

Hope this helps.

Thanks again to brezzamagoo and christiH27 for your kind words of support and assistance.

Keep doing the compresses and leave it alone to let the body heal itself.
