I got my nipple pierced about 3 months ago.
Since then, i've changed the ring a few times, after 2 months
and that went fine.

I want to do wrestling in highschool,
And for the first few practices, i just taped it really well.
I'm wondering how long i could keep the ring out for,
or the chances of it being rejected from pressure,
or any possible means of retaining it.

I:
-don't want to not wrestle
-don't want to remove it permanently
-don't want to get it ripped out
-don't want it to be rejected

I know that doesn't leave me with many options,

But any ideas?

Thanks.

Mike

The problem with removing them for wrestling is that if they get injured while you are playing your sport, the piercings could close up because of the injury.

You have not told us what gauge you were pierced with, do you have a ring or barbell?  You did not state your aftercare and what if anything you are doing to your piercing now.  If you were pierced with 12g, it has a better chance of not being ripped out.  It heals better (at least we have found that it does with our clients.)

Each person is different and if you get injured, there is a good chance that your piercing will close.  If you bleed, your piercing is guaranteed to close.  The body does not reject, there is a process called migration where the rubbing of the ring or overcleaning will start to breakdown the tissues in front of the ring and then the weight of the jewellery will be so heavy that the body will be unable to support the piercing.

We can understand not wanting it to get ripped out which makes your desicion extremely difficult.  The older the piercing becomes, the more stable is it.  If you are not having any problems getting the jewellery in place after an event, great.  If you are, then you will have problems.

We cannot tell you what to do, its your piercing.  You just have to be aware of what can happen to it.

Good luck
