Well my labret has been done for quite some time and I have had zero problems with it until my dog and I got to playing.
She (a boxer) popped me in the mouth and it tore the inside of the piercing a bit. The surround tissue is not swollen and tender. There s a slight volcano going on around the inside disc.
Should I get a longer stud or just ride it out? this has been a while...maybe a week or so and the slit is showing signs of healing but the immediate area around the piercing is still irritated.
Maybe you should not be so rough with your dog.
Just for your information, if you have a volcano inside your mouth, then you have swelling in the tissues.
Without seeing it, we would suggest riding it out for another week. If you are close to our shop, please come in and let a piercer look at it.
If unable to do that, we do not recommend a longer barbell because it may not really help unless the swelling is excessive.
Do not play, touch, turn, or move it unnecessarily to help reduce the swelling. Taking Tylenol or ASA (anti-inflamatory) may also assist you.

Well technically the dog should play less rough with me (it was an accident, she is a clutz and does not realize she weighs 70lbs).
Second, I know what causes the volcano, I was stating that fact to give you an idea of what I was up against (If you want to see some nice ones ask Alice for pics of my tongue when it got tor during an auto accident and what happened after that). was mearly asking if I should leave the jewelry in it or change it for longer and you answered that.
Thanks, I know not to play with it, just was unsure if it needed room to swell or not. It has gone down alot in the past two days.

About the manual, well, we have had some set backs and we can only do so much in a given day, but I am working on it.
