Okay, I got my labret piercing about 2 and a half days ago so it's still swollen and in a minimal amount of pain, but my piercer gave me H2Ocean to rinse the piercing with but it's not the mouth wash stuff it's the sea salt solution. After using it as directed (4 to 6 times a day) I've developed some white tissue and a small bump under the "skin" on the inside of my lip, is this normal or should I change anything that I'm doing? I mean the bump isn't painful I just don't want to cause an infection.
Also, just a little thing, I have a ring in and the swelling has caused an indent in my bottom lip where it sits... After the swelling goes down that should eventually go away, right? If not that's fine but it just looks a little odd.
Please follow our aftercare and not use salt water at all. It dries out the tissues and you are already feeling the affects of using the product.
If you have your labret pierced, you should have a labret shaft, not a ring. The ring would have to be too large in diameter and that will cause problems for your teeth. If you were pierced at the edge of your lip, it is called a lip piercing and it is done with a ring.
Swelling is peak on day 3 and you are now experiencing this swelling. It will start to dissipate if you switch to our aftercare and stop using the salt water. If the indent in your lip does not reduce, then you may want to return to the piercer and get a larger ring.
