Labret Bump [inside the mouth]

My friend got her labret done in April, she did not get it done at Blackstar.

Her piercer told her to combine warm water with seasalt and lather it on outside of the piercing, and to do this for two weeks. (She knows now that Seasalt isnt the best solution) And use Oral B mouthwash after everytime she ate.
She still does the mouthwash but not the seasalt.

I have noticed her playing with the peircing, spinning it and whatnot. She didn't know she wasn't supposed to touch spin it after the cleaning was done.

On the inside of her lip she has sprouted a large bump around the piercing, she noticed this when her barbell popped off and she tried to put a new one in.

I think that it's not surprising that she's got a bump, but what should she do? I posted before about my Tragus piercing's bump, and I was to use a hot water compress. Should she do the same for her lip?

As we have written many times before, overcleaning is the main reason for bumps on piercings.

Playing with the piercing is the second reason for bumps.  As long as your friend continues to irritate the piercing, then she will not get rid of the bump.  The inside bump on a labret is more difficult to get rid of that any other bump because playing with the piercing is more frequent and more difficult to stop playing with it.

Since the bump is on the inside, there is really nothing she can do but not play with it and stop using the mouthwash unless it is just in the morning with her regular dental routine.  Too much mouthwash will irritate the bump as well.

If she inserted a new labret into her piercing and it fits well without much leverage, then if she leaves it alone in time the bump should disappear.
