Irritated vertical hood piercing

I got a vertical hood piercing 5 days ago, and the piercer told me to put polysporin on it after I washed it. It was ok for the first couple of days, but as of yesterday the skin on my hood has developed bumps. It is very itchy. Does this mean that I have some kind of infection? I contacted my piercer and she said to stop using the polysporin and to instead put hydro-cortisone cream on it. I am in desperate need of some help!!

Bumps and itchy translate to a possible allergic reaction but we do not know if it was to the polysporin or the jewellery.

We would recommend going to a doctor and having them take a look as we do not believe the hydrocortisone cream is appropriate for the problem.
