Ok here's my story... I got my eyebrow pierced august 2005 with an ear ring gun... I was told to clean it with hand sanitizer which i did for about a month... then i switched to alcohol... then i switched to just simple antibacteria soap but it still would not work.

so then i switched to hot salt water and after that i saw a doctor... i saw him about a week ago and he told me i had to take it out and use bactroban... i didn't listen to him but i did use the bactroban... it helped A LOT but its still tender and painful, it bleeds, there's still some puss, and this bubble has formed.

PLEASE SOMEONE GIVE ME SOME REAL HELP IM SICK OF LISTENING TO FALSE ADVICE!  and taking it out is really not an option for me... i feel horribly self conscious without it... PLEASE HELP ME

Well all the products that you were told to use on your piercing were WRONG!  All of these products are harsh and have drying effects that just irritate the delicate tissues.

Not only that, but you used them for a lengthy time each and this only irritates the tissues further and eventually can breakdown the healthy ecology of the skin and a bacterial infection can develop.

Bactroban is a good antibiotic and you were quite correct in not removing the jewellery as it helps leave a path for the bacteria to exit the body.  If you removed the jewellery, you could have developed a cyst and required surgery.

At this point, you received your piercing incorrectly, which also means that it is a surface piercing and we are quite amazed that the piercing is still there.  We would have believed that it would have migrated.  You probably do not have much tissue in the ring and what type of jewellery do you have inserted in the eyebrow as the ear ring stud would not be adequate for the job.

Do you mean to inform us that your piercing has not shrunk or changed in any way since 2005?  There is the same amount of tissue on the shaft as it was last year?

All the symptoms that you are writing about have everything to do with all the stuff you used on the piercing.  We do not know what type of jewellery you currently have inserted.  Our believe is that you should remove the jewellery and get it properly pierced.
