Hi,
You've pierced me twice now, nipple a few years ago and eyebrow in the summer.
I'm a little concerned about the health of my eyebrow piercing. It has a bump beside the lower hole, looks just like a pimple. I've had it for quite awhile, or have had it come and go.
I don't think I play with it too much, except maybe my barbell is abit too long and I rough it up when I sleep on it? I wash my face with an acne wash and wonder if its too harsh for the piercing maybe?
I have gone through this same ordeal with my nipple before, which right now looks great. I am trying to ignore my eyebrow right now as much as possible, because after reading other threads it seems like the more you do the longer healing will take, but its hard to do when its right on your face.
Do you have any idea what my problem might be and how I can fix it? There is pussing, and it isn't sore, unless the piercing gets hit the wrong way.
Our advice for the bump would be to come into the shop and let a piercer take a look at it. Since you had this for awhile, it may be more difficult to get rid of it.
You are correct that the length of the barbell could be a factor and the harsh acne product may also factor into the problem. As you acknowledge that you are touching or doing something to the piercing and the more you do to it, the longer it will take to dissolve the bump.
Your body does the healing and if you confuse the body in what to do, it will try to get rid of the irritant first which is why you probably have the bump. At this point, try to leave the piercing completely alone. Try not to touch it at all!
Hope you can come to the shop and get personal assistance.
