Okay so I just got my industrial piercing about 6 weeks ago the first two weeks it was doing really good but about half way through it started to act up and start to form puss bubbles around the piercing. I imminently started to clean it more then 4 times a day afraid the bubble was going to overlap the piercing. I got it under control for about a week. but now the puss bubbles just keep coming back on an off it's like one day they will go away stay gone for an extra day and then be back the fallowing day. I haven't gone to my piercer yet but I'm using what they gave me to clean my piercing, H2Ocean cleaner. My mom is pushing me to use Neosporin but I really don't want to do that since my piercer advised not to, but she's saying if it doesn't stop forming the bubbles she's going to have me take it out. Is there any thing I can do to have this stop I really don't want to take out the barbell. If anyone could help it would be amazing.
H2Ocean is garbage. Four times a day is abuse. Neosporin would have been beneficial during the first 48 hours after the piercing was done to prevent infection. After that, it is of no use. Neosporin is not strong enough to fight an infection. The barbell keeps the wounds open and allows the pus to drain. Removing the barbell because of an infection puts you at risk of developing a cyst which will require medical intervention. Your piercer is an idiot.
So, let's try to get this under control. First, change your understanding of what you are doing. Aftercare of a piercing should be to protect the piercing while it is healing. Excessive aftercare interferes with the healing process. Nothing you do will make a piercing heal. You have to back off and let it heal.
Second, put a little moisturizing hand cream on a Q-tip, and apply it to the skin around the piercing. For now, just do this once.
Then, when you are in the shower, shampoo your hair. This should provide more than enough cleansing around the piercing. Rinse well with warm water to remove any residual shampoo. Then leave everything alone until the next shower.
In a few days, I would expect the health of your piercings to improve significantly. Keep me posted.
