I first got a vertical hood piercing and it didnt hurt or bother me at all. My piercer suggested that I get what he calls a triangle piercing, but in my neck of the woods that means to improve upon the original piercing, get 2 more piercings, one on each side of the original, and it forms a triangle when the balls come together.
At the same time, I went with 2 hoops on the labia. It has been a week, and one of the "sides of the triangle has a very large hump bump above and all around it. It looks swollen and awful! It had gotten a bit better then the other side of the triangle started to do the same thing!
I am quite alarmed but have invested time, money and the desire for piercings. I am hesitant to remove them. Also, one of the hoops on the labia are hurting and swollen. Its difficult to even wipe gently after urination or it causes much pain!
To top it all off, I got horizontal nipple piercings and decided to go with "non-traditional" vertical piercings to go along with them.
The balls on the barbells on the piercings were DIGGING into my flesh and becoming obscured, I ended up changing the one barbell to a longer length this evening, I hope it will help, so far, it had relieved much pressure.
What does this sound like to you? I am more concerned about the "Southern" Piercings although it is all a bit scary to me. What do you recommend? I did go into my piercer, he had said if the swelling didnt go down we could change to hoops to relieve the pressure.
I dont want to lose my piercings, but I also do not want to lose my "Southern Region" (speaking mostly in jest with a lighthearted joke). But you know what I mean. HELP!
Also, my piercer did not LOOK at my piercings when I expressed this problem, and I also asked him about the large holes in my nipple piercings too, he said it was from pressure. That it would go down eventually, but today it became unbearable. The SOUTHERN REGION piercings are fast becoming unbearable too.
I need advice!
Well, the triangle is one piercing. The triangle is the placement, it does NOT mean 3 piercings. The location is just not suited for that many piercing without problems associated with it.
With regard to the labia piercings, you did not mention inner or outer, how large (diameter) they were because these piercings are easy to heal (like ear lobes). So one problem could be a too large diameter or too small for the swelling (the difficulty is that we cannot see the piercings to say for certain).
The vertical nipple piercings can be pressure sensative. Generally, at our shop, we have them extra long so that they can swell without digging into the tissues. After about 3 weeks, you should switch to a fitted shaft with a little curve (very slight) so that the balls sit on top, not into the breast area.
The piercer who did all this work to you, did NOT know what he was doing. He has probably put you through more discomfort than necessary. We understand that you wish to keep the piercings so lets do what we can to help.
When you mean unbearable, are you referring to pain? What are you using to clean and turn the jewellery for all your piercings? What products are were you using and how often?
We need to know inner or outer labia and what diameter gauge if you know or can find out. The barbells for the nipples, gauge and length. With respect to the nipple piercings, were they behind the horizontal or in front? How are the other nipple piercings doing?
Give us as much information as possible.
Everything ended up working itself out.....I had to change the jewelry and it was great!!
What happened was I had straight barbells and they were literally catching on each other and tore my skin...yeouchhh.
I got captive hoops and they worked out perfectly!!
No wonder you were in pain. Glad that you got rings into the piercings.
