Hi All!  I got my piercing on January 15th.  I love it but the screw they put in was very uncomfortable.  So this weekend, 4 weeks later I purchased an acrylic flexible nose jewelry stud.  I figured it would be more comfortable for me.  I asked the piercer at my place one said 2 months the guy said "I have been doing this foryears, it is totally fine after 1 month"  Because i didn't want to do it unless he gave the ok and I totally trust this guy.  So, I waited the 4 weeks and had my friend help me.  My nose didn;t hurt anymore and all that so I figured it was ok to change it...the piercer also said it looked really good.
So, we both sterilized and washed our hands w the microbial soap I have to clean the nose.  We sterilized the new jewelry w it very carefully and put it in...OMG we couldn't get it in AT ALL! It took 30 min!  I totally aggravated it.  Then it started to hurt and bleed a bit.  The screw is so hard to get in...We kept sterilizing hands and nose to make sure no bacteria or infection will occur.
Anyway, the piercer said 1 month...that's what I did...now it is sore...Did I damage the nose piercing?  WIll I get the "bump", I started doing the cleaning process from day 1, meaning cleaning it 2 times a day w the antimicrbial soap named Satin and then the H20 spray 3-4 times a day.  I know I am taking care of it properly...
Is there anything else I need to know or do?  Did it just go back to day 1 of healing?  It is still a little sore when I clean it, but not as bad as I thought it would be.  I see no redness or anything, BUT it does still have some yellow crust once a day when I clean it w a Qtip after I wash it

ANy suggestions or things I need to know?  Will I be able to keep this piercing?  I am so nervous!

I think just leave it alone now. No more changing the screw for ATLEAST 6months from NOW.

Make sure you don't over clean it. Sometimes that can irritate a piercing. Generally you can change your screw after such a short period but you are best to get your piercer to change it over you.

As for the bump you may or may not get it. Just have to wait and see...

We hope that you do not develop the bump, but you have been irritating the piercing and with all the fussing that you did to try to insert the new nostril screw, you could develop a bump.

Please STOP using the salt water product, just wash your face with whatever you did before you received the piercing.  When you use harsh products, you dry out the tissues and cause irritation.  We recommend doing warm water compresses to calm down the tissues and hydrate the skin.

Otherwise, leave the piercing alone and let the body heal itself.
