Hi I had my nose pierced for almost 19 days now, this is my story: we have an Indian women who works for us.  She had her nose pierced and all of her family because its a tradition in India.

She advised me this: she told me to pierce with a small needle, and put a piece of string (cotton sewing thread) instead of jewelry.  She said don't clean it or anything, but she said that I need to move the string around jauntily every 2 or 3 days so the tissue will not grow on the string.

Three (3) days ago I noticed that there is something looks like pimple next to my piercing and there is dry blood around it.  Its like when you get a small scratch and after that you find a solid dry blood covering it.

So what do I do? Do I stop moving the string?  Im afraid that the tissue will grow over the string?  Do i clean the dry blood or just leave it?  Also when should I remove the string and insert jewelry?  She told me to use just gold jewlery.

thanks

This method is not safe at all.  The string is not coated and therefore can become stuck in the nose.  Please CHANGE IT TO A NOSTRIL SCREW QUICKLY!

You are going to have problems, we had a client who did the same thing and we cut the string and some of the thread was still stuck to her.  We insisted that she go to her doctor to have it checked out.  In the end, she lost her piercing.

The pimple and blood are not important at this moment.  The cotton thread can get infected and cause you greater problems.

Please remove the string and get some type of jewellery in place.

Well I went today to look for a gold jewelry but I couldn't find any nose jewelry gold or no gold.  Tomorrow im going to go out of town to buy one.

What do I do till then? Is it ok to leave the string for one more day? Or should I take the string off and leave my piercing open for one day? I really don't know what to do, im so sad I really want my piercing and really don't want to lose it.

Please i would do anything not to lose my piercing.  And what do I do for the pimple around my piercing?  Is it ok to ware an earring jewelry in the nose?  Because i have alot of gold earring jewelry i want to know if I can use them on my nose.

thanks

We do not recommend removing the string unless you can put something in its place immediately because you will lose your piercing if you left it empty for one day.

Once you get in a proper nostril screw, then your body can start to heal.  It will be able to take care of the bump during that time so please do NOT worry about the bump.  It will disappear in a couple of weeks as long as you leave your piercing alone.

We do not know what type of jewellery you have so we cannot comment on the style and what could happen if you insert these into your nose.   You have to make a decision but the more you irritate this piercing, the longer it will take before the bump will go away.

Hi.... at first i want to say thank you very much for taking the time to help me.

Well i lost my piercing.  My father is a doctor he is even specialized in nose.  I hid my piercing from him so he would not get mad at me, but he saw it.  He removed the string and tried to put the jewelry in, but my nose started to bleed.  I have very sensitive skin, so my dad said that the area is irritated and if we bother it more it can lead to an infection.

So he told me that I have to wait until my nose is completely heal then pierce it the right way.  so please tell me everything I need to know before I pierce my nose again.  how long it will take until it heals?  And can I pierce in the same place?  And what is the best jewelry to use?  the straight one or the screw?  And what can I do to avoid the ugly pimple or bump or whatever it is.

Thanks

In this forum we have a section called Blackstar Aftercare and here you will find information about the nose piercing.  So we do not have to repeat ourselves, please read it.

We also use a nostril screw and there is no aftercare for this piercing.  We have found that by cleaning this piercing, only irritates it more and this will result in a greater chance of developing the bump.

You can get it pierced in the exact spot, it just may be a little more uncomfortable when getting it done.  Scar tissue is a little more fibrous and it may even bleed more as well.  This is only at the time of piercing, we have done many in the same spot and they have not had any problems.

Please wait about 1 month before getting this done again.

Good luck and keep in touch
