i have had my helix piercing for about 6months, it healed up pretty well but on the 3rd month i had it change to a stud, and a small puffy bump formed around it. the bump shrinks and then on occasions it flares up and becomes bigger, red, sore, and pus would also come out from it, till now the bump is there and pus still occasionally comes out from it, should i just leave it alone? i am afraid that it would become a keloid
What type of stud? Is it a standard stud with a butterfly back typically for an ear lobe, or is it a labret stud?
the standard stud with the butterfly back, but what i have it on now currently is those plastic stick to hide it, is that a bad idea to use a plastic stick?
The stud is not surgical steel overall. The back is spring steel, possible plated. If the plating is scratched, your perspiration can leach nickle out of the back. You may be having a reaction to the metal.
oh, what stud would you suggest me to change to? also, how should i go about by making it heal faster? :)
If you read the posts here, you would know that anything you do will make it heal slower, not faster. The ideal is to leave it alone if you can, and allow it to heal without interference.
Go to a body piercing shop and look at your options there. Get something simple like a captive bead ring or a small barbell. The piercing should be able to help you with options.
