This question might be an eyeroller to some of you. But I have to ask. I just got my eyebrow done about two days ago. And I have two questions about it
First question: Will it lay over to the side? Right now the ring (which by the way, I dont know what size it is since the guy would not talk tell me anything really) is just pointing out. It wont lay back to the side any. Is this normal? I really dont know anything about eyebrow rings. I have see other's rings laying to the side a bit, not just sticking right out.
Second question: How can I tell if the ring is starting to migrate? If that happens I definitely want to take it out. I dont want a huge scar right through my eyebrow. Are there any signs I can look for when its starting to do this?
Thanks for your time.
Today, you are at peak swelling and yes, its normal for the ring to 'stick out' for the first week or so. As the swelling dissipates, the ring will start to lay on one side. So eventually it will lay flat against your face.
Since the piercer did not tell you anything, does this include how to take care of it? If this is so, please go to our aftercare section and follow our aftercare (soft tissue).
Migration is a mechanical process, our bodies do not reject. If you move the jewellery regularly and too much, you will start to breakdown the tissue in front of the ring and as you wear this down, the piercing will start to migrate. Being careful not to overclean or move the jewellery is the best way to reduce the risk of migration.
How can you tell, you notice that the distance between the tissues become shorter. You have to realize that you are at peak swelling and the idea is for the tissues to return to normal after about 3-4 weeks. Its after this time that you should leave the piercing alone and let the body heal. If you move the ring after this point, you are increasing your chances of migration.
Hope we have helped.
Thanks a lot for the reply.
After some thought though I am trying to decide if to take the eyebrow ring out or not. Im not sure I look good with it in.
But on the chance I decide to remove it, how is the best way to remove a captive bead ring? I have tried to a couple times but the ball just wont pop out like people say.
Thanks again for your time .
If you decide to remove the ring, then what you have to do is to open the ring so that the bead can fall off.
The ring is like a spring mechanism and you cannot really pop the bead out, the ring needs to be opened with reverse plyers so that you can slip out the ring.
Good luck
