Hi

well i got my piercing done 8 months ago, and i didn't really have any problems with it, infection after the first 3 weeks, but that quickly went away. Then i stopped cleaning it like after the first few months i didn't really do anything and it became irritated and so i started using tea tree oil last week and it's getting a lot better.

however over the past month or so it looks like the piercing is migrating. Like it's coming closer and closer to the surface and i'm scared it's gonna come out and leave a huge scar. (my belly button piercing rejected after 2 months and left a horrible scar... so yeah i don't want that on my face lol)

Does anyone know how i can prevent this or help the piercing stay in? Any suggestions are appreciated.

thanx in advance :)

From what you wrote, you overcleaned the piercing.  You state that something irritated the piercing, well, it was being irritated by what you were doing to it and then you started using the tea tree oil (which is very harsh) and now your piercing is migrating.

You are causing your own problems.  STOP using anything on your piercing.  Generally, once migration has started, it generally will continue until the jewellery has completely migrated out.

Our recommendation is that to reduce the scaring, you remove the jewellery NOW.  This way, you will only be left with 2 small dots, not a line on your eyebrow.

There is scar reducing products available and your local pharmacist can assist you in finding something to help reduce these scars (including the navel).  If you overcleaned that piercing as well, then we understand why it only lasted for 2 months.  Aftercare is to kickstart the body to do the healing.

Once you get healed (about 4-6 weeks), you can get it repierced and this time, do not overclean and have them pierce behind the original piercing.  This will give you more stability and less risk of migration.

Good luck
