Does this look normal? (Labret)

Here's a pic of the inside of my lip after 2 weeks. I was really sore yesterday but has calmed down substantially today.

However, I have notice the skin has mostly covered the backing plate disc. I have followed your aftercare regime to a [b]T[ b]. I noticed at Day 4 it got more sore and swelled. At Day 7 it began nesting and looked off center from the outside but has since corrected itself.

The last 3 days, 11, 12, & 13, have been the most uncomfortable (Sore) of all. It may have been to over zealous eating of stuff that is a little too rough for a fresh piercing I'm not sure.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Do you know what shaft length was used when you first got pierced?  At any time, could you see the shaft without using your tongue to push the barbell forward?

We are asking because we can see swelling and from the timeline, this is too much for too long.  Generally we see this from shops that use too short of a piercing shaft and does not leave room for swelling.

This causes problems because the swelling cannot dissipate because of the constant pressure from the short shaft.

We start with 3 8" length shaft and generally use 1 4" balls.

At this point in time, you should not be cleaning or moving the barbell at all.  Try not to play with it.  Hopefully with your information, we can think of a way to correct your problem.

Keep in touch

They used a 5 16" shaft. I just got a 3 8" from my piercer It does pop out of the skin and most of the area is dead skin and wipes away with very little effort.

Yes I could see the shaft first 4 days until it began to swell. I don't move it with my tongue I only clean the area outside in the show because I have a beard and I want to make sure any crusties get wiped away. I rinse morning and night with 1 2 Listerine and 1 2 H2O but that was a normal routine before for me.

I'm going to wait until the weekend and I get to the 3 week mark to change it though.

You have written so many different posts and we are trying to answer them now we are becoming redundant.

Since your piercing is almost 3 weeks, please follow our aftercare from this point in time.

Lets stay on one thread, not all of them.
