i got couple of questions:
1. I use to wax my stomach but since i pierced i stopped and now its been almost 2 months so can i wax it again? Or should i wait till it heals completly like you know leave it for a whole year?
2. Can i change my belly ring or no? cause i pierced it in a hospital and the doctor told me its fine so i just want to make sure!
3.Can i sleep on my tummy again or no? Cause im used to sleeping on my tummy and these days im sleeping on it and it got a little bit red. i do not know if its from sleeping on it or just from the over cleaning cause i use to clean twice a day but now i cut it to once a day you know just at night?
And im worried about the bumps and the migration i have read about. so now im scared is there anything to do so i dont get it.
You can wax your stomach as long as you are careful not to get any wax on the piercing.
Yes, you can now change the ring to a barbell if you want, but you will need proper tools if you have a captive bead ring. You will need to open the ring so that you can remove it.
Tummy sleeping is a problem for some as this can irritate the piercing and create a situation where the bumps and even migration can occur. When you sleep on your tummy, you rub your body back and forth while you sleep and this is where you get serious irritation. This can result in migration or developing the bump.
We also know that changing the ring to a barbell will help reduce that risk. So change the jewellery and just watch out for any irritation.
Thank you very much
Today i changed my ring to a barbell then i noticed that the hole on top was bleeding i do not know why; think i did something while i was puting the barbell on. i put the barbell on then took it off and then i put it on again cause i felt it was heavy so i changed it to another barbell.
it was pus (white yellowish pus) and blood so im a little worried and im cleaning it once a day and some time i do not so is it normal that its bleeding? Do you think its migrating? its ichy some times and when i clean it in the shower i kinda move it alot although i try not to.
Changing the jewellery can be irritating to a fresh piercing and if you did not use any type of lubricant on the threaded end, then this could have scratched the inside of the piercing. So remember to put a lubricant before changning the jewellery.
You are still cleaning and this is another reason for your puss and blood because too much cleaning can seriously irritate and dry out the tissues. If you start moving the barbell up and down you can eventually start the migration process.
So, as of now, please leave the piercing alone. Do not move the barbell in the shower either.
The itchy feeling is the tissues healing and this is normal.
Keep in touch
Ok so i dont move the barbell while im in the shower i just let warm water run over it and soap around it. But how am i gonna clean the crusties i gotta move it a bit so i can clean it with the Q-tip?
And what kind of lubricant should i use? Is baby oil ok?
thank you very much
The idea is to not move the jewellery. So, when you remove the crusties, do you best. Since you have a barbell, there is not much movement that occurs as it does with a ring that will spin around. So please do not worry about the movement as you want to get the crusties off. We also want youto get behind the barbell inside your navel and dry that off as water can get trapped and you can have other issues.
The lubricant we are talking about is to be placed on the barbell before insertion. Baby oil is not a lubricant but more of a moisturizer. We suggest polysporin neosporin ointment, and all you need is a small dab to be put on the threading so that insertion is smoother.
Im really sorry that im asking alot but im worried about my piercing. now i can feel the barbell between the 2 holes thorough the skin. ive read that it could be migration, i just get a little of puss and everything look good. even the skin between the 2 holes look fine. is it normal that i feel it?
Ive read lots of posts and now im freaking out and sometimes the barbell hurts but not alot a little bit when i bend. it kinda bugs me you know and i dont clean it anymore. i just take a shower everyday and thats when it get cleaned.
thank you very so much and im sorry again.
now i noticed that i have little small bump under the hole and my barbell is not fitted well.
You know like its swollen from the top alittle bit is that the reason? should i get a smaller size?
thank you
Migration is a mechanical process and if you keep moving the barbell too much the tissues in front of the barbell will eventually breakdown because the weight of the jewellery is no longer able to be supported by the tissues.
If you are moving the barbell, and the distance between the holes is shrinking, then you may lose your piercing. So please do not move the jewellery anymore.
We have written this in previous posts, so please read them carefully.
If you have developed a bump, it is probably because of all the irritation you have caused by moving the barbell too much. Just leave the piercing alone and let the body heal itself.
