It says in your aftercare that you should be rinsing with the original listerine every 2 hours the first 10 days. Although from reading some of the replies when people say they rinse after every meal (5 or so times) which is actually less than rinsing every 2 hours, how come its too much?
If you read the aftercare carefully, you would have realized that you extend the timeline each week so that by the end of the third week you are doing what you did before the piercing was done.
We also switch from Original listerine on day 11 to something mintier as the first 10 days is to kill all bacteria so that piercing can start to heal and then introducing sugar to balance the flora in the mouth before you develop a problem.
If you do not rinse enough, you will develop problems, if you rinse too much you will develop problems. Our aftercare we have used for over 15 years and have had little problems.
