Quick question plea for advice.

I got pierced on Friday (two days ago).  I woke up Saturday morning suffering from the infamous campus cold thats going around.  My nose is stuffed up, my nose is red from the stuffiness, and all my sinuses are clogged.

Would you recommend that I remove my jewelry and get it redone when I'm over the cold, or do you think even though I'm stuffy constantly blowing my nose I'll be OK?  I really would like to keep it in, but I'm worried that the cold germs might not be the best for it.

Thoughts?

It seems to be healing well (at least I think, I don't really have anything to compare it to)...the swelling pain is minimal and it's only kind of tender.

What should I do?

Thanks in advance to anyone who offers advice!

I've had my noser piercing for about 2months now and I've gone through two semi-colds.

When I blow my nose I just try to put as less pressure on the side of my nose as I can and thats it really. You may irritate it but if that happens, then it happens.

I wouldn't remove it just because it would seem like a waste. However it is really up to you.

We have had many nostril piercings where the client was just getting a cold or just getting over one.  We have found no difference other than a little bit of irritation.

Just do not clean or move the jewellery.  Try to not irritate it as much as possible.

Let the body heal itself.  The anti-inflamatory medication that you may take will help the piercing with swelling.

As you do not seem to have much trouble with the piercing, leave it in place and see how it will do in the next week or so.

Keep in touch
