Hello,
I have been considering cheek piercings for over a year now and I have a few questions before I finally get them done..
1. Do they take longer to heal than regular oral piercings? Such as lip, etc.
2. What are the chances of rejection?
3. What would be the estimated cost for both cheeks to be pierced at a regular 14g?
4. Are the aftercare procedures any different than other oral piercings? (Polysporin for a couple days, Soft Soap, etc)
Thanks!

Cheek piercings require a thorough knowledge of anatomy, in particular the courses of the cranial nerves through the face. They also require a custom long labret.
We have had good success with them in the past, but we now recommend less invasive microdermals. The deep tissues of the face are not disrupted by the microdermals, and healing is much quicker.

Do the mocrodermals still give the dimple effect? That is what I love most about the piercings. And also with the custom barbell, is the length just for the healing process to leave room for swelling and help with cleaning, or does it have to stay like that?
The flesh of the cheek is usually thicker that that of the lip, hence the longer shaft requirement. The jewelry should usually be fitted precisely, hence the custom requirement.
The jewelry does not create the dimple. Most will have the jewelry placed in an existing dimple, and a microdermal can be placed anywhere you wish. If you do not have a dimple, then don't expect a cheek piercing to give you one.
