changing barbells early

I had my tongue pierced 9 days ago.  It's been healing up nicely.  I may have made a big boo boo though.  The shaft of the barbell felt too long, and I knew I was suppose to have it downsized at 2 weeks post-pierce.  Well, I changed it on my own (I bought a cute barbell), and now I'm wondering if I made a mistake by not waiting the full two weeks.  I still have room, but it's a much snugger fit.

The thought of putting the longer shaft back in doesn't sound like fun either, it was hard to put the darn ball on.  Very slippery!

Should it be ok?  Thanks

Your tongue has not fully dissipated the swelling and you could have a surge in swelling, depending on what you eat or sleep.

Since you have put in the other shaft, do not remove it.  Be careful and watch for any signs of problems.  We do not know what your aftercare was is so continue until 3 weeks.

Oh yea, its easier to put the balls on when you have a pair of latex gloves or a dry cleanex and put one hand on top the other on bottom.  One holds the ball firm and the other twists it on.  Hope this is helpful when changing this in the future.
