I have had my eyebrow pierced for 2 years now.
A few months ago I had those pimple type bumps on both ends of my eyebrow piercing and went to my piercer and told me to use hot compress, I have a stressful job and it causes those bumps.. now the bumps on top are gone.
However, I now seem to have a cyst bump inside my eyebrow piercing, if I pinch my eyebrow that has no piercing it doesnt hurt, and I dont feel anything except the skin on the other side.
If I pinch my eyebrow on the side its pierced (with the eyebrow ring taken out) I feel something hard between me two fingers pinching the skin.
Does anyone know what this could be, how I should treat it?
It hurts to push against it also.
Thanks for any help
First, do you wear a barbell or ring in the piercing? If its a ring, then putting in a barbell to reduce the pressure may help. If you wear a barbell, is it straight or bent? If its straight, then please insert a bent barbell, this will reduce the pressure on the ends of the piercing where you had the bumps in the first place.
Second, when you get a piercing, the tissues where its pierced become tougher (scar tissue) and this is normal for any piercing. By pinching the piercing area, you are only irritating the tissues and yes, it will hurt!
Our recommendation is to stop pinching the tissues and insert a bent barbell into the piercing.
Thanks
Hi I've been having some of the same problems as Lisseth.
I've had my eyebrow pierced for 5 months now and a couple of months ago my piercing became completely swollen. It started to discharge a bit, but it was still really thick and swollen so I decided to go to my piercer to seek help.
He advised me to go to my doctor to get some anti-biotics which I did and it helped a bit. I used it for a while and the swelling reduced so now it's not so bad. Unfortunately there's still a small bump under the skin of my eyebrow.
I don't feel anything like this in my non-pierced eyebrow. All I feel is skin. This is really bothering me as I do not know what to do. I have a barbell in my piercing and I don't think it's the size that has anything to do with it.
I was continuing to clean it a while ago to see if that would help but I don't really think it has and I was using polysporin but I discontinued the use of that as well.
Please help me. I would appreciate it so much.
interesting advice, i was only pinching it to see if it felt hard (without the eyebrow barbell in) i have had it pierced forever, so what i am feeling now wasnt there before... plus it didnt irritate it at all (from me slightly pinching it)
I have a bent barbell.

Your piercing is still healing, as any piercing takes 1 to 1.5 years to fully heal. You could have bumped it somehow and as swelling is a reaction to an injury it is normal. You are just not getting the same response because you now have a piece of jewellery in your eyebrow.
You cannot make a comment that the non-pierced eyebrow does not feel like the pierced one because they are not the same anymore. You have a piece of jewellery in one. If you have your ear lobes piercer, please remove the jewellery and then rub your index finger and thumb over the bump. Do you feel anything? You should because there is a hole and scar tissue has formed to keep it open. This will eventually be formed in any piercing.
You may have a bump because of the swelling problem you experienced recently. Once injured, it can take several weeks for the tissues to return to normal, especially if you are irritating it by touching, cleaning or turning the jewellery. Leave it alone and let the body take care of it.
After 2 weeks, the aftercare should be complete because any more than that amount of cleaning and turning will lead to other problems like what you experienced. If you cleaned too much where you developed an infection, then it will take even longer to heal. Please be patient.
If the barbell is comfortable and not causing you a problem, then great. But if the barbell is exposed and you are adjusting it regularly, then it can be a problem. Each person is different and what one person can tolerate another one cannot.
Please understand that it will take time for the healing to be complete and if you injure the piercing it will increase the timeline. Try to avoid problems and at the same time, ignore it and let the body heal itself. Nothing that you put on it (unless there is an infection diagnosed by a doctor) will heal it. The human body has a system to heal itself.
Keep in touch.

Please read the response to Bossy as it does pertain to you as well.
We cannot emphasize it enough that touching your piercing can cause problems. It may take a few days for the effect to happen, but once it does, it can take several weeks for the piercing to return to normal.
Since every person is different, we are giving advice based on our knowledge of 20 + years. Not everyone will respond the same and most important issue is that we cannot see the piercing. We are taking your description and recollection of events as all the information we have to base our advice.
Good luck and keep in touch
