bump on inside

I have a small blister like bump inside my nose which appeared after my piercing fell out and i had to replace it.

What actions should i take and will a bump form on the outside of my nose?

You did not give us enough information so that we could help you.

We need to know, how old is the piercing?  What is was your aftercare?  What products did are you using?  How often?  What type of jewellery do you have in place?

Since we cannot see your piercing, we need you to be clear so that we can assist you in achieving a healthy piercing without any bumps.

The piercing is a month old.  I washed it in the same way i wash my face in the morning using a mild soap. Any crusties have been removed with a Q-tip and hot water.

The piercing is a nose screw (pierced with a needle) and has fallen come out once.

I am thinking of removing the jewellery.  Can i do so at present, with the bump inside my nose? I also have a cold can i remove it whilst i have a cold.

Many Thanks

We recommend leaving in the screw for at least 6 weeks before changing it.  Since you have the bump, we would strongly recommend not changing the jewellery until the bump has dissipated.  The more you irritate the piercing, the longer the bump will remain.

The cold can irritate the bump as well but until your cold is gone, you will still irritate when blowing your nose.  Just be patient and leave it alone.

Keep in touch

sorry i didnt make myself clear. when i said removed, i mean take the screw out and let the piercing close up.

Many Thanks

We try to save the piercings before we give up.

The final decision of what to do for your piercing is yours.  If you remove the jewellery and the piercing closes, there is no guarantee that the bump will disappear or it may take a few weeks for that to happen.  Our philosophy is that all piercings can be saved, you just require some patience.

You can remove the jewellery at any time if you do not want to keep the piercing.  After you remove it, you do not have to do anything special, just leave it alone.
