Bruising After Piercing

I got my navel pierced on Saturday, not to mention that it bled pretty bad, I now have some major bruising.  I also think that it is too high, there is probaby 1 2 inch from the bottom ball to the actual top of my navel.

Is the bruising normal?  And if it is too high, how long before I can have it redone?

Without being able to see the piercing, all we can tell you is that if you are unhappy with the location; remove the jewellery and wait a week and have it redone.

We also do not recommend using a barbell for the initial piercing.  It will be more difficult to clean and it will remain swollen for a longer period of time.

Use a ring and at 6 weeks, as long as the piercing is healthy, you can change it to a barbell.

Good luck

So is some bruising normal for a navel piercing?

I had mine done a few years ago and it did not bruise but I had it redone on Tuesday (3 days ago) and now I have a bit of yellow bruising. (I have a ring in my piercing.)

Yes, there can be bruising with this piercing.  It should not last too long.

Please follow our aftercare and you can find it under blackstar aftercare.

Good luck and keep in touch
