I have had my vertical hood piercing for 4 days now. It hardly hurts, is hardly swollen, but it is very bruised. I have other body piercings and none of them were ever bruised. I haven't read any other reports like this yet so I was just wondering if this was cause for concern.
Bruising can occur for any piercing afterall, piercing is an injury. Because the tissues are very labile in the area, it can lead to bruising.
Take an anti-inflammatory and see how it is in a few days. If you get better each day, then its nothing to be concerned about.
If you are doing extremely exercises or are having sex, these activities could be adding to the bruising as well.
