its been 3 days since i have had my piercing. i dont know what happened last night but i started to see a little pink bubble of blood on top of my tongue near the ball, thinking it would go away by morning, i woke up to find out that it got bigger and it got more red and now it looks like a big bubble of red blood or a blood clot or something near the ball. i tried poking it around a little and it seems to be meat hanging out or near the hole and its really bloody looking but its not bleeding or anything, i have not felt any pain or anything im just very concerned if im infected or i did something wrong.
my aftercare has been mostly diluted scope and salt water for the past 2 days until i found this forum, so i have been using the original listerine since last night.
There is a chance that you may have developed a blood blister or that the piercing may be slanted and is putting pressure on the tongue causing it to look like a blood blister. Your aftercare may have been a tributing factor and we are very happy that you are now following our aftercare.
Try not to play with the piercing and eat healthy. Leave the lump alone and see what will happen as you use the proper aftercare and follow our recommendations.
Keep in touch with your progress.
i just checked my piercing, and that same thing is happening to me.
How old is your piercing? What is your aftercare? Please describe clearly what your problem is.
What gauge were you pierced with (12 or 14g)? Please take a good look and make sure its not just a little fleshy part of your tongue. Depending on the angle of the piercing, you may be pushing it forward and this can create a bump blister affect which is not the case.
Please write back.
i think i got the same problem. i just got my tongue pierced 2 days ago and the first day was fine. im taking sea salt and the glyoxide but today when i woke up i saw my tongue it was bleeding but just a little bit. the blood was around the jewellery then i was eating a little piece of pizza and my tongue started to hurt. i went to see it and it was bleeding again and i stop eating and i put the glyoxide.
i didn't know that you could not kiss or have oral sex. i just saw it right now and i kiss my boyfriend yesterday you think that its infected?
i called the store to see if it was ok that it bleeds. they said that it was ok for now but if it bleeds more i have to get a bigger piercing. i didn't understand that so i don't know what to do.
please help me, thank you
Your problem is directly related to your aftercare. Salt water and glyoxide is NOT good for your piercing. For the first 10 days you need the Original Listerine as you need to supress the bacteria in your mouth so that the piercing can heal. Then on day 11, you reintroduce regular mouthwash to help bring it the natural ecology.
Why you are bleeding is that salt water is harsh and dries out the tissues, this can cause bleeding. So as long as you are using this aftercare, it will take longer for your piercing to heal. This can also lead to you developing THRUSH which is a yeast infection of the mouth.
We do not recommend you having oral sex for the first 10 days as this is very important for the healing, but kissing can be done as long as you are not too aggressive with your piercing. Kissing will NOT cause an infection, but oral sex could do lots of physical damage to your tongue.
We also do not understand what your piercer meant by getting a bigger piercing. It could mean that you may need a longer barbell or a thicker one. You should have been pierced with a 14g or 12g (which we use) and a 3 4" length barbell to accommodate for all necessary swelling.
Our aftercare is in Blackstar Aftercare section, please USE IT and not the one you are doing so that you can have a healthy, happy piercing.
I got my tongue piercing 3 days ago, the first 2 nights it did not bleed. However the 3rd day i woke up with a little bit of blood, just a little bit, then i wash it and it stop bleeding. I went out for dinner afterwards I washed it off with the cepal or wtv (what I was given for aftercare). I only had a salad for dinner. Then i started putting a lot of ice for the swelling to go down, but after a while it felt like i was bleeding. I went to the bathroom and i was bleeding just a little bit again.
Today is my 4 day and i woke up fine; however when i move the ring in my tongue it started bleeding, its it normal? I did use salt and warm water last night, its not too much blood like i said it is just a bit;however, its scaring me very much.
I dont know if its because the second day a ate fish, then the third day i had a salad with shrimp and i chew gum, i also had hot chocolate but it was warm. Yesterday i had rice and small pieces of turkey. Today i had milk and it was ok, but like i said before when i move the ring it started to bleed. I dont know what to do.
Is the bleeding normal? Do I need to use salt with hot water for it to heal? How many days is it suppose to bleed? The first time it was pierced, 4 years ago, it did not bleed.
Thank you very much,
There is a good chance that part of your problem is that you had your tongue pierced 4 years ago. You may be bleeding because it may have gone through the same spot and this is now scar tissue and it can bleed.
By now, this problem should have subsided. It is nothing to worry about. Please do not stress. We do recommend you not using the products you mentioned in your post.
