i just pierced my lip 5 days ago

i  have been looking around the internet looking at different ways to be cleaning it.  so far all im really doing is drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated and  trying to remember to brush my teeth after each meal.

ive read on here and a few other places that you should  go with a bigger ring or stud.  i was wondering if that is true, you should because its better or what?

i have a 16g hoop in right now, and yes it has moved a little bit but thats normal from what i have read.  everything else seems to be fine with mine

so is bigger really better for your lip or not?

At our shop we pierce with 14g because its thicker and more stable with less risk of migrating.  The thinner (16g) can tear easier and therefore can cause damage to your lip.

Your question about bigger if its relating to gauge, then yes, its better to have a 14g than a 16g to reduce the risk of migration.  A bigger diameter hoop will depend on where on the lip you were pierced, towards the middle your lips are plumber and therefore would need a larger diameter.  Otherwise, we generally use a 5 16" or 3 8" ring.

Please follow the our aftercare that we have posted on our forum.

Good luck
